Tax Credit Still Available
This is just a reminder that there is still a tax credit out there. If you are a first-time homebuyer and you are an eligible Veteran, you may still be eligible for the tax credit.
As an eligible Veteran, you can still qualify up to an $8000 tax credit on your tax return. If you are a repeat home buying Veteran, you can receive up $6500. You need to be in contract by April 30, 2011 and close escrow by June 30, 2011.
You do not have to take VA mortgages to get the credit; though it may benefit you, if you do.
With interest rates where they are at and the possibility of receiving a tax credit, this makes this time an ideal time to consider purchasing a home if you are a Veteran.
